Betty’s Burgers
About This Spot
Nestled just off the beaten path in Honolulu, Betty’s Burgers offers a laid-back yet vibrant atmosphere where the bustle of the city softens into something more familiar and welcoming. Walking in, you’re greeted by the warm hum of chatter and sizzling sounds from the open kitchen, a subtle promise of something satisfying and honest. The pace here strikes a comfortable balance—unrushed but lively enough to feel like a neighborhood spot where locals and visitors alike drift in for a genuine bite.
The space itself blends casual charm with a hint of aloha spirit—whether you’re settling into a booth surrounded by vintage checkered paper trays or grabbing a quick bite at the counter, the mood invites you to slow down, savor the moment, and let the simple pleasure of a well-made burger set the tone. It’s a spot that feels familiar without being overfamiliar, where the focus is quietly placed on food that hits just the right notes.
At Betty’s, the burgers carry the weight of good stories—juicy, smashed patties layered with just enough cheese, crisp bacon, or a touch of blue cheese, balanced by soft, buttery buns and the occasional kick of house-made sauces. The fries, often mentioned long after the meal ends, arrive thick-cut and golden, perfect for dipping or simply enjoying on their own. Pairing these with a nostalgic Oreo or passion fruit shake adds a comforting sweetness that rounds out the experience without ever overwhelming it.
What truly stands out is the kind of hospitality that doesn’t need to shout to be felt. The team here moves with a friendliness that doesn’t rush you but ensures your plate arrives hot and your questions about the menu find warm responses. It’s a place that respects its role as a community table, where quick lunches turn into moments of connection and a satisfying meal feels like a small personal celebration.
In a city bursting with options, Betty’s Burgers quietly crafts a space where the timeless joy of a great burger and good company come alive—unpretentious, real, and unmistakably local.

The burger and the beyond meat burger were very good. It was actually a smashed burger (a bit on the salty side and could have used a bit more lettuce for a better balance) with mayo/sriracha sauce that was pretty good. The people were friendly, but eating in a converted garage area didn’t sit well for me. So, it’s a 4*, instead of a 5.

Everything was good, as expected by the reviews. The thing that stood out were the French fries. I don’t know what they normally taste like, but on this night, Chase and Madison gave me the best French fries I’ve ever had in my life. This isn’t me raving about the French fries or trying to set your expectations sky high, more so be wanting to share an experience that I’m afraid I’ll never have again. The fries are lamb Weston brand and they were fried to perfection. Chase, the chef, worked some magic that may only happen once in a lifetime. Think little mashed potato pillows encased in a crispy golden case. I love ketchup but I wouldn’t dare tarnish the taste of these fries. I’ll definitely go back to see if this was a one off experience, but part of me feels like I can’t go back because I risk tarnishing the memory. I am writing this review to let you know that I experienced magic and I’ll be chasing this French fry high for years. 10/10 on service.

My wife and I were craving smash burgers and stopped by Betty’s in the Royal Hawaiian Dining Plaza and were blown away! We both ordered the #3 Betty’s Deluxe with cheese—perfectly stacked with American cheese, lettuce, tomato, pickles, onion, and their amazing BB sauce. The burger was juicy, flavorful, and just hit the spot. The fries were crisp and delicious, and the service was friendly and fast. Plenty of seating made it an easy, comfortable stop. Highly recommend if you’re in Waikiki and craving a great burger!

This place is amazing down the alley a bit the hamburgers are the best in town and the prices are great for the area you won’t go broke eating here. Staff is great and grandly the food was served hot. And plenty of food to fill you up. I had the number 10. Awesome.

Stopped in for lunch and was seriously impressed. The burger came stacked with crispy bacon, melted cheese, and pickles that added just the right kick. The bun was buttery and soft with a perfect toast, holding everything together like a champ. Juicy patty, great flavor balance, and not overly greasy. The fries were thick cut and golden!! super satisfying. Plus the checkered paper tray gave it a classic burger joint feel. Definitely a spot I’d return to.

Hard to find but worth the search. Just amazing burgers here. They have achieved the perfect balance between a crispy and moist burger. Can miss here. The service is just delightful. Super friendly. Been here twice in the first week, its that good.

Food: tastes great and very fresh. The burgers tase really good. Cleanliness: the store seems ok but could be better. The birds in the area are really annoying. Staff: ok Parking: you can find some parking spots bur better to walk. Price: reasonable for the quality you receive.
